Fifth: Directorate of Nuclear and Radiological Security:<\/strong>
\nThe directorate shall be managed by an employee of at least the second level who holds a first university degree and has service in the field of the directorate\u2019s work for a period of not less than 15 years.<\/p>\n

The Directorate undertakes the following tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0Proposing controls for nuclear and radiation security and the illegal transit of nuclear and radioactive materials.<\/li>\n
  2. Ensure that the necessary measures are taken to prevent the theft of nuclear materials and other radioactive materials, or change their use or associated facilities, or their storage, or unauthorized access to them, and their illicit transfer, or other exposures related to those materials and facilities, and to detect and respond to these acts.<\/li>\n
  3. Review and evaluate security plans for nuclear facilities, radiation practice sites, and transportation of nuclear and radioactive materials.<\/li>\n
  4. Inspection of nuclear facilities to ensure that they take appropriate security measures.<\/li>\n
  5. Verifying to ensure that all the necessary physical and administrative requirements are available to store nuclear and radioactive materials in safe places in accordance with licensing requirements and do not cause harm to humans and the environment.<\/li>\n
  6. Proposing systems, controls and guides for nuclear security requirements and the physical protection of nuclear materials and facilities<\/li>\n
  7. Participation in relevant regional and international projects joined by the International Atomic Energy Agency and other organizations related to the work of the Commission.<\/li>\n
  8. Detect and impede illicit trade in radioactive and nuclear materials through the use of systems at fixed, mobile and specific points in coordination with the relevant national authorities (acting as a fixed gateway)<\/li>\n
  9. Propose controls and oversight of the necessary procedures to limit the smuggling of radioactive or nuclear sources through the ports or the border strip, in cooperation with the relevant authorities (border forces).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
