Tenth: Directorate of Research and Development:
The directorate shall be managed by an employee of at least the second level who holds a doctorate and has served in the field of the directorate’s work for a period of no less than 15 years.
The Directorate undertakes the following tasks:
- Building and developing regulatory infrastructure by proposing regulatory systems and instructions.
- Conducting research in the field of radiation security and safety necessary to implement its various activities.
- Contribute to automating the methods of obtaining vacations through the government portal.
- Updating the Authority’s systems, instructions, and regulatory regulations on an ongoing basis.
- Issuing regulatory regulations and work guides.
- Spreading public culture through awareness of the nature of radiation sources and their uses in the medical, research, educational and industrial fields, the risks resulting from the presence of these sources in places not designated for them, and how to prevent them.
- Preparing specialized and solid scientific studies and research that would develop and improve the efficiency of the Authority’s performance and improve the performance of its directorates.
- Study and evaluate projects and research completed within the annual plan of the authority’s directorates.
- Developing capabilities and maximizing capabilities.
- Qualitative training and development for employees and capacity development.
- Coordination with the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding plans for graduate and undergraduate studies and following up on the implementation of these plans in accordance with the applicable laws.
